Newsoundwales Top 50 Albums 2022
It’s that time of year again and we’ve selected 50 of our favourite albums from the past 12 months. Some of the best songs tell a story and so it probably comes as no surprise to find out that The Deline’s Willy Vlautin is a former member of Richmond Fontaine and also a respected script writer (Lean on Pete, The Night Always Comes, The Motel Life). The songs on ‘Sea Drift’ draw you in and take you right to the heart of the drama whether it’s the heartbreaking “This Ain’t No Getaway” and “Surfers in the Twilight” or the brooding moody “Hold Me Slow”. Every song a mini epic, every song a work of great beauty and that is why we’ve named it our favourite album of 2022. We hope you enjoy all of these albums as much as we have.
