Matthew Frederick (Friday 30th January 6.30pm) Hailing from the Rhondda in South Wales, singer, songwriter and composer Matthew Frederick is lead singer of rising Welsh stars Climbing Trees. He blends a childhood love of the early works of Elton John, Billy Joe and Bon Iver and in 2012 released the released a solo EP ‘Venus & Mars’. Matthew has made a number of live session appearances on BBC Radio Wales, regularly collaborates with Ed Sheeran co-writer Amy Wadge, and was recently part of a team penning original music for Sony-signed Only Boys Aloud.

Lily Beau (Friday 20th February 6.30pm) Songs continue to be the life blood of the music industry and if there was one young Welsh singer to single out as a person with huge potential as a ‘song writer for the future’ it would be Cardiff’s Lily Beau. She describes herself as “Welsh born and bred and most definitely proud”. Still incredibly young she already has a growing repertoire of strong original material and is already an assured and confident performer. If she is this good at 15 then who knows where she will be in 5 years’ time.

Ellie Makes Music Friday (27th March 6.30pm) This talented young singer song writer has gradually gained a reputation in and around Cardiff. She celebrated the release of her debut EP “City Lights” by appearing at the Houses of Parliament and her song “Company” was selected by Peacocks for their 2014 Christmas advert! “Influences from the Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling are evident, they are by no means defining here; this is a young woman with stories to share and ample musical means to tell them.”(Tom Bevan, Miniature Music Press)

FUR Friday (24th April 6.30pm) Fur are Lily, Luci and Zac three young musicians from Cardiff who have been together for just over a year. During that time they have already been featured on Radio Wales and in 2014 played with 70s legend Fuchsia. If you transported a band from San Francisco in 1967 and gave them a 21st Century sensibility they would probably sound like FUR. Its early days for the band but they already have some strong material, a growing following and the promise of great things in 2015.
