Blackelvis – Painter

Blackelvis were formed back in 2019 and quickly gained a reputation for dynamic live performances which were always full of energy and produced an electric atmosphere. The band went through significant changes last year with only lead singer Levi Tyrell Johnson remaining from the original line up and this is effectively Blackelvis mark ll. The revised line up has retained the energy and much of the musical attitude of the original line up. However, there are some subtle differences with the new members bringing an additional musical pallet which are to the fore on this beautiful track. The arrangement is particularly strong which helps the track grow with the some tasteful keys and well placed percussion. Levi is a wonderful front man and has proved himself a superb rock vocalist but this track shows he can be soulful and restrained which works to great effect. On the evidence of this track and the recent single ‘Through the Rain’ it looks as though the band have used the enforced lockdown to good effect and with gigs due to recommence later this year Blackelvis look set to provide the live excitement we have all been missing.
